Hawaiian Airlines has announced it will introduce its new flagship aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, on its route between Fukuoka and Honolulu. The change is scheduled to take effect with the winter schedule, beginning on October 27.
This new aircraft will replace the Airbus A330-200 that currently serves the route, bringing an upgraded passenger experience to the service.
Upgraded Aircraft and Cabin Features
The Boeing 787-9 deployed on the Fukuoka route is configured with a two-class layout, totaling 300 seats. This includes 34 seats in the business class cabin, known as Leihoku Suites, and 266 seats in the main cabin.
The Leihoku Suites are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, offering direct aisle access for every passenger. These suites feature lie-flat seats, privacy doors, and 18-inch entertainment monitors. Within the main cabin, 79 of the seats are designated as ‘Extra Comfort’ seats, which provide additional legroom. The aircraft is also designed with large windows and spacious overhead storage bins, and it maintains a cabin pressure and humidity level intended to enhance passenger comfort during the flight.
Winter Flight Schedule
Starting October 27, the updated schedule for the Fukuoka-Honolulu service will operate four times a week.
Flight HA828 will depart from Fukuoka (FUK) at 8:40 PM and arrive in Honolulu (HNL) at 9:55 AM on the same day. This service will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The return flight, HA827, will depart from Honolulu (HNL) at 1:45 PM and arrive in Fukuoka (FUK) at 6:40 PM the following day. It is scheduled to operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
