Qatar Airways and Air Algérie have announced a new codeshare agreement, creating enhanced travel options and improved connectivity for passengers traveling between Algeria, Qatar, and beyond. The partnership allows customers of both airlines to book their entire journey on a single ticket, simplifying the travel experience.
Bookings for the new codeshare flights are now available for travel commencing on August 21, 2024. The agreement covers flights operated by both carriers between Algiers’ Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG) and Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH).
Expanded Network and Connectivity
Through this strategic partnership, Air Algérie passengers will gain access to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, which includes over 200 destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East via its hub in Doha. This significantly expands the international travel options available to customers starting their journey from Algeria.
In turn, Qatar Airways passengers will benefit from seamless connections from Doha to 11 domestic destinations within Algeria. This new access deepens the Qatari carrier’s presence in North Africa and offers its global travelers new routes into the country.
Yacine Benslimane, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Algérie, described the agreement as a "strategic milestone" in the airline’s development plan, offering customers a wider choice of destinations and a superior travel experience. Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, stated that the partnership will strengthen ties with Algeria and support the country’s economic and tourism growth by improving global connectivity.
