Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus Announce Codeshare Partnership for Expanded UK and Ireland Access

In a significant move to enhance global travel connectivity, Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus have unveiled a new codeshare partnership set to commence on 13th March 2024. This collaboration will offer passengers expanded access to a broad array of destinations throughout the UK and Ireland, in addition to extending Qatar Airways’ global reach including Africa, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and New Zealand.

The partnership marks a further consolidation of Qatar Airways’ ongoing relationship with International Airlines Group (IAG), Aer Lingus’ parent company. It signifies a pivotal step in Qatar Airways’ strategy, enabling codeshare integrations with all IAG carriers such as British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, and now Aer Lingus. This move not only reinforces Qatar Airways’ presence in the European market but also underscores its commitment to offering a more connected and seamless travel experience to passengers worldwide.

Under the new codeshare agreement, Qatar Airways will add its code to flights operated by Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional, facilitating convenient connections through major hubs like Dublin, London, and Manchester. Travelers from Irish and UK cities such as Aberdeen, Belfast, Cork, and Glasgow will now have smoother access to Qatar Airways’ extensive network via Doha’s Hamad International Airport, further opening the door to global travel opportunities.

Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting it as a testament to Qatar Airways’ dedication to customer service and its strategic alliance with IAG. “Our new codeshare partnership with Aer Lingus demonstrates our commitment to customers, offering them a wider choice of global destinations.
