Qatar Airways Amplifies Winter 2024/25 Network with Strategic Capacity Expansion

Qatar Airways is set to significantly boost its global network for the upcoming Winter 2024/25 season, spanning from October 27, 2024, to March 29, 2025. These strategic enhancements underscore the airline’s commitment to improving connectivity and catering to rising travel demand across key regions. For travel professionals, this expansion translates into greater flexibility and an enriched array of options for clients seeking seamless global connections via Doha.

A cornerstone of this expansion focuses on strengthening ties with Eastern Europe and Russia. The Doha (DOH) to St. Petersburg (LED) route will see its frequency double from 7 to an impressive 14 weekly flights, utilizing a blend of A320 and 787-8 aircraft. Similarly, the Doha (DOH) to Moscow Sheremetyevo (SVO) service will also double from 7 to 14 weekly flights, operated by 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliners, notably including a codeshare with NORDWIND Airlines (N4) for enhanced passenger experience. The well-established Doha (DOH) to Moscow Domodedovo (DME) route will maintain its strong presence with 14 weekly flights. Furthermore, Doha (DOH) to Tbilisi (TBS) expands from 7 to 10 weekly flights (A320), and Doha (DOH) to Warsaw (WAW) climbs from 14 to 17 weekly flights (A330-300, 787-9).

Beyond Europe, Qatar Airways is substantially enhancing services to popular leisure destinations and rapidly growing Central Asian markets. The Doha (DOH) to Phuket (HKT) service will increase from 14 to 17 weekly flights, predominantly with A330-300 and 787-9 aircraft. In Central Asia, Doha (DOH) to Samarkand (SKD) grows from 4 to 5 weekly flights, while Doha (DOH) to Tashkent (TAS) rises from 7 to 10 weekly flights, both primarily on A320s. Kazakhstan’s connectivity also sees a boost, with both Doha (DOH) to Almaty (ALA) and Doha (DOH) to Astana (NQZ) increasing from 7 to 10 weekly flights, served by A320s and 787-8s respectively. The Doha (DOH) to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (SAW) service will also see a rise from 14 to 17 weekly flights, deploying a diverse fleet including A320, A350-900, and 787-8 aircraft.

These strategic capacity increases highlight Qatar Airways’ agile response to market demand and its dedication to providing unparalleled global access via its Doha hub. For the travel industry, these expanded offerings represent prime opportunities to craft appealing itineraries and cater to a wider spectrum of travelers seeking world-class service and enhanced flight options this winter season.
