AirlineRatings.com, an Australian-based aviation product and safety rating agency, announced the world’s best premium airlines based on 12 criteria, including safety and product ratings, fleet age, profitability, serious incidents, innovation, forward fleet orders, and passenger reviews from various sources.
The panel of judges comprised five editors with over a century of industry experience, headed by AirlineRatings.com Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas.
Qatar Airways leads the global airline rankings, despite not always providing the travel experience expected, such as the recent turbulence that injured 12 people on a flight from Doha to Dublin.
Qatar Airways was once again crowned the world’s best airline, beating out previous winner Air New Zealand.
Thomas said Qatar Airways excelled in many key areas, although the scoring for the top ten was exceedingly close. “The passenger reviews however scored Qatar Airways ahead of all airlines and its consistency and high standard of service delivery came through in the feedback,” he said, as reported by CNN.
