Normally drama is enjoyed on TV screens on flights but a West Midlands man found himself at the centre of it on a flight to New York. Bobby Field ended up the hero of the mid-air drama that broke out during the United Airlines flight to Newark from Heathrow.
He twice tackled a ‘drunk’ man who had allegedly pinned an air steward to the exit door and hurled abuse at others, reports BirminghamLive. The suspect led to the flight having to make an emergency landing, it is claimed.
Passengers onboard cheered as he was carried off the plane, but they left their loudest applause for the 38-year-old from Brierley Hill. He was with his girlfriend Rebecca Guestford.
