Earlier this week, a United Airlines Boeing 777 operating a flight to San Francisco u-turned back to Frankfurt due to a toilet overflowing onboard.
It is understood efforts were made to mitigate the problem, but to no avail, as we will explore in this piece.

United Airlines flight UA59 is a routine scheduled flight between Frankfurt and San Francisco.
The aircraft involved in the incident was operated by N2243U.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N2243U is a 6.8 year old Boeing 777-300ER that was delivered to the airline in June 2017.
Of the Boeing 777-300ER variant, United Airlines has 22 of them in the fleet, of which all are in active service.
