A United Airlines flight was diverted on Monday, marking the airline’s fifth flight issue in one week.
The airline told PEOPLE that United Airlines Flight 830, traveling to San Francisco from Sydney, had to return to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport following “a maintenance issue.” The Boeing 777-300 had 167 passengers and 16 crew members on board.
“The plane landed safely and passengers deplaned normally at the gate. We are providing accommodation overnight for passengers and rebooked them to San Francisco the next day,” the airline told PEOPLE.

The incident comes days after United Airlines Flight 821, traveling from San Francisco to Mexico City on Friday, had to be diverted to Los Angeles due to an “issue with the aircraft’s hydraulic system.”
