In a significant development within the aviation sector, United Airlines flight attendants have received permission to remove their ‘wings’ badges, which now include their pronouns, when not on duty. This decision comes amidst an ongoing dispute with the flight attendant union over the introduction of new badges that have become a mandatory part of the uniform. The Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA) has raised concerns, leading to a grievance filed against the airline for not adhering to the current contractual agreement which mandates separate name and ‘wings’ badges.
