AVOCA, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) —
United Airlines will be changing its twice-daily service destination at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP) in June.
AVP said it received word from United Airlines that effective June 27, 2024, United’s twice-daily service to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) will be replaced with twice-daily service to Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD).
Officials said that the service between AVP and IAD will be provided by CommutAir with 50-seat Embraer 145 Regional Jets.
AVP’s service to Dulles was replaced with service to Newark in March 2022 to match supply with demand during the pandemic, AVP said.
According to AVP, United will continue to provide daily nonstop service from AVP to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).
Flights to/from IAD will operate on the following schedule:
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AVP) to Washington-Dulles (IAD):
- Depart AVP at 10:05 a.m.; Arrive IAD at 11:14 a.m.
