This was announced in a recent report published by OAG, the world’s leading organization specializing in tracking and statistics on tourism and aviation.
It provides statistics based on the world’s largest information network about flights and markets. On that platform, OAG identified the most successful airlines and airports in Asia-Pacific in the period 2019–2023.
According to OAG, Vietjet Air leads in two categories, with the low-cost airline having the strongest growth in the region in terms of both operating capacity and flight frequency on short routes (under 4,630 km).
Behind Vietnamese airlines in these two categories is India’s Indigo. Regarding long-haul flights, OAG identifies Air India as the leading airline in terms of capacity and frequency of operation. The follow-up is Singapore’s Scoot.
In addition, OAG also honored Vietjet as the “champion in network expansion” airline when it opened a series of new routes in 2023.
