Vistara is under scrutiny after the passengers of an international flight were erroneously taken to the domestic terminal. The flight was from Dubai to Mumbai and after the passengers landed, they were transported in coach buses one of which took the passengers to the domestic terminal. This would have been a major security breach as the passengers would have bypassed customs. The airline responded by expressing regret and stating that it would re-evaluate its operating procedures.

According to an article which was recently published by The Financial Express, the incident happened on the night of Sunday, February 4 and in the early hours of Monday, February 5. As per a Hindustan Times (HT) article, the flight landed at 12:24 AM.
The passengers of the flight were transported via four coaches. One of these four coaches mistakenly took all of its 70 passengers to the domestic terminal, thus bypassing the customs and standard procedures that international passengers are supposed to follow.
Upon realising this mistake, the passengers were called back. Some of the passengers who were worried about not having the immigration stamps on their passports alerted the authorities themselves. As per sources cited in the HT article, the bus driver is being held responsible.

BCAS Launches Probe; Airline’s Response To The Incident

A full investigation has been launched by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security or the BCAS into the incident. The airline responded by expressing regret over the incident and stated that it would review its operational procedures.
This will be done to make sure that the incident that happened on flight UK 202 is not repeated. After this incident, many people on social media expressed concerns. The airline reiterated its commitment to the safety and security of the passengers and ensured that it won’t happen again.
