UAE Rains: IndiGo, Vistara, SpiceJet issue advisory for Dubai travellers

UAE Weather, Dubai Rains: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been lashed with heavy rains and thunderstorms. IndiGo, Vistara, and Spice Jet have issued advisories for Dubai travellers.

New Delhi: Several Indian airlines, including IndiGo, Vistara, SpiceJet have issued travel advisories for Indian passengers flying to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to heavy rains and thundershowers.

Dubai was lashed with heavy rainfall and severe storms on prompting the local authorities to issue an orange alert. The weather department has warned of ‘medium to heavy rains’ for the next two days.

UAE has advised the people taking precautionary measures and ordered for online classes in schools and appealed to companies to opt for work from home till May 3. The authorities have closed beaches and parks.

“Due to bad weather (thunderstorms with rain) in Dubai (DXB), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status,” Spice Jet posted on X.

“Due to bad weather in Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah and Abu Dhabi, our flight operations are impacted. Road blockages may disrupt local transport. Plan accordingly. Please keep a track of your flight status at http://bit.ly/2EjJGGT before leaving for the airport,” IndiGo informed on its X handle.

Tata Group-owned Vistara said that due to the anticipated bad weather conditions from May 2nd to May 5th, traffic congestion is expected enroute to Dubai Airport. Customers are advised to allow more time for their journey to the airport. Thank you.

Bad weather has led to several flight cancellations on Thursday. Flight movements at Dubai International Airport have also been less due to adverse weather conditions.
