British Airways, Wizz Air and Lufthansa have resumed flights to a troubled country fighting a war. Several airline services are resuming flights to Israel, months after suspending their services amid the conflict in Gaza, which has raged between Hamas and Israel since October.
British Airways will be resuming operations from April 1. A BA spokesperson said in response to the decision: “We have taken the commercial decision to move Tel Aviv to our short-haul network when we restart our flights on April 1.
“This aligns these flights with other similar length flights we operate, and we will keep this decision under review.” Wizz Air has resumed flights from Luton to Israel, along with connections from Budapest, Larnaca, Milan, Rome, Sofia, and Warsaw.

Lufthansa will offer four weekly flights from Frankfurt, and three weekly flights from Munich to and from Tel Aviv. British Airways, easyJet and Virgin Atlantic all suspended all flights between the UK and Tel Aviv in Israel back in October.
A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said in response to the decision at the time: “The safety of our customers and our teams is our number one priority, always. After careful consideration, based on latest information, we have taken the decision to pause flying to and from Tel Aviv for the next 72 hours.
“As the dynamic situation evolves, we’ll keep our flying programme under constant review. Our teams will be in contact with any affected customers to discuss their options, which include rebooking to a later date or a full refund. We would advise anyone booked to travel to check their flight status on the website before travelling to the airport.”
Wizz Air, another budget airline which serves UK flights, had earlier suspended operations before BA. El Al, the Israeli flag carrier, was still operating services when the conflict erupted back in October.
