February 7 (SeeNews) – Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has transported 10 million passengers on its Albanian flights since launching operations at Tirana Airport in 2017, the airport operator, TIA, said on Wednesday.
In 2023, the number of passengers on Wizz Air’s Albanian flights surged by 49% compared to the previous year, reaching 4.6 million, TIA said in a LinkedIn post.
Wizz Air dominated Tirana airport with a 59% share of served passengers in 2023, TIA said last month.
In 2023, Wizz Air introduced 10 new routes from the airport of Tirana.
The Hungarian carrier now offers 50 direct destinations from Tirana.
