Spirit Airlines led in North American on-time performance in April, narrowly beating out regular chart topper Delta Air Lines and moving up from third place in March, according to the latest report from aviation analytics company Cirium.
The low-cost carrier gained 1.6 percentage points from March for an 83.3 percent on-time performance, besting Delta’s 83.1 percent. Alaska Airlines barely led JetBlue for third place (they have the same listed score due to rounding), but the latter improved the most from March, with a 5.4 percentage-point increase to 82.8 percent. JetBlue previously had been in seventh place. WestJet didn’t make the cut last month, but this month returned in fifth place at 82.4 percent.
