Delta Air Lines is partnering with aviation startup JetZero to help develop a blended-wing-body aircraft, with a design that could prove significantly more fuel-efficient than that of traditional jets, the carrier said Wednesday.
JetZero in 2023 was awarded a $235 million grant to develop the blended-wing-body passenger aircraft, with an appearance far different than current jets and the promise of more fuel-efficient operations, perhaps up to 50 percent compared with existing jets.
