ITA Airways has announced its intention to resume flights to Israel, with a new target date set for early 2026. This decision marks an adjustment to the airline’s previous plans, which initially aimed for a restart in early 2025.
The planned route will connect Rome Fiumicino (FCO) with Tel Aviv (TLV). ITA Airways had previously suspended these flights due to security concerns in the region. The reintroduction of services to Israel is described as part of the airline’s mid to long-term strategy for international expansion.
Several other international carriers have either already resumed or are preparing to restart flights to Israel. This includes airlines such as Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Air France, KLM, Brussels Airlines, Wizz Air, Ryanair, easyJet, and Virgin Atlantic. ITA Airways’ move positions it alongside these carriers in re-establishing air links to the destination.
