British Airways and Qatar Airways have completed the “latest phase” in the expansion of their partnership with the addition of 42 new countries to their shared network, the carriers announced Monday.
Among the added countries are Italy, the Maldives, Norway, Singapore and Sweden. The expansion will enable connections on a single ticket through Doha and London and brings the number of destinations served by the two carriers to 185 across more than 60 countries, according to the airlines.
In addition, customers will be able to link British Airways Executive Club and Qatar Airways Privilege Club loyalty accounts to transfer Avios, their common currency, between the two and to combine balances to claim rewards offered by each program, according to the carriers. Each member also will have access to both airlines’ airport lounges and aircraft cabins.
