NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A woman has been charged with allegedly exposing a 7-month-old child to fentanyl, an arrest record states.
In December 2023, officers responded to a call about a child being unresponsive. The arrest record says medics suspected an opiate overdose and revived the child with Narcan while transporting her to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Francine E. Hammonds admitted to officers that a couple days before the incident, she snorted heroin in the Nashville hotel room with a friend. The arrest record says Hammonds then said they snorted the illegal drug in the same area where she found the child unresponsive.
Hammonds added she cleaned the area and believed there was no leftover residue.
