Escambia County could have another new hotel under development. Here’s what we know:

International hotel chain Candlewood Suites may expand its local footprint with a second location in the Warrington area.

On Wednesday, a local group filed updated plans with Escambia County to build a Candlewood Suites on North Navy Boulevard near the Bowling Green subdivision.

Developers have sought to build the hotel for five years and this is their third time proposing the project to the county during that span.

Their latest proposal resembles their plans from last year, where they applied to build a four-story hotel with 87 rooms, a parking lot, a pool as well as an outside seating area with a gazebo. However, there have been a few modifications to their proposal from last year concerning the project’s layout.
