Panaji: Online hotel aggregator OYO launched an accelerator programme in Goa to help small first-generation hoteliers expand their operations and achieve long-term profitability. The Gurugram-based company plans to add over 500 hotels and generate more than 5,000 new jobs in Goa over the next year through this joint initiative with the tourism department.
“The accelerator programme not only aligns with our vision of sustainable tourism but also provides a platform for small and mid-sized businesses to scale up their operations through strategic mentorship, technology integration, and financial support,” said tourism minister Rohan Khaunte.
The programme comes just over a month after Airbnb launched an entrepreneurship academy to train homestay owners in Goa. Airbnb has trained residents from rural communities with skills to operate homestays.
