The message stated that the booking was for a small Halloween party for a teen and friends. The request assured that the house would remain clean and intact. Lentini found the request suspicious and decided not to respond.

Despite the denial, a group of teens entered the home through an unlocked window on October 28. They organized a Halloween party, staggering attendees by grade level. Ninth graders arrived first, followed by older students. The gathering was organized by a teen who had earlier contacted Lentini and later shared the setup on Snapchat.
