Airbrb.org is offering free temporary housing to support Oklahoma residents who have been displaced from their homes by the wildfires.
Stays are offered without charge for guests, and are funded through Airbnb and the generosity of hosts. Many of the homes are offered by the hosts for free or at a discount through airbnb.org.
How it works:
- Call 211 and request temporary housing through Airbnb.org
- Heartline 211 call takers will verify your address using wildfire damage maps provided by the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management*
- Once your address is verified, heartline 211 call takers will submit your information to Airbnb.org
- Airbnb.org will reach out to you to help find an Airbnb stay that will work for you (number of rooms, pet-friendly, location, etc.)
* Report home damage online at damage.ok.gov. Homes must be uninhabitable to qualify.
