At first, Nicholas Jarzabek seemed like the “perfect tenant” to rent a Netflix executive’s $1.8 million home in Los Angeles.
The 36-year-old from Idaho appeared wealthy when he turned up to sign the lease on the property in the Mid-Wilshire neighbourhood.
Nikeeta Sriram, 31, described Jarzabek’s Tesla, Rolex watch and said his bank statements revealed he had $1 million.
But there was a catch.
Jarzabek, who actually lives in the UK and performs as a singer-songwriter under the name Nick Diver, is accused of lining his pockets via illegal Airbnb sublets.
Sriram has since discovered that Jarzabek secretly earned nearly $220,000 renting out the home without her knowledge from 5,000 miles away.
