Airbnb has had a big year in 2024, making waves in the travel world with new ideas and innovative moves.
In September, the company reopened its platform to new experience submissions after suspending them in 2023. It also introduced new experiences hosted by celebrities called Icons, a marketplace for co-hosts and hinted at even more expansion beyond its usual offerings. Alongside this growth, Airbnb has continued to battle against short-term rental regulations, and remained outspoken about the positive impacts it believes these rentals bring to cities.
