SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Imagine finding a hidden camera in your bedroom while you and your family are on vacation.
According to a recently filed lawsuit, that’s what happened to an Arkansas family last March. They spotted a camera disguised as a smoke detector right above the bed of a Valley rental home.
The home in question is located near 124th Street and Shea Boulevard, and police have said it was never even registered as a short-term rental.
“It would freak anyone out I think. I mean, I don’t like to be watched and I watch people for a living,” said Justin Yentes. He is a private investigator.
He’s not surprised that guests of a Scottsdale Airbnb discovered a hidden camera with Wi-Fi and night vision during their stay.
The lawsuit said the family found clips of people in intimate moments seemingly videotaped without their knowledge.
“I’d like to say that it doesn’t happen a lot, but there’s a lot of creeps out there. So, you have to be careful,” said Yentes.
