Memphis: When we book a hotel, some of the things that we do consider is if the hotel is safe, if your privacy will be respected and if the host would be nice to you, right? Well, for this one man, all these things turned out to be false. Why? Because he got into a ‘conflict’ with the Airbnb host. And then, she sent his pictures with another woman to his wife!
Man’s conflict with the Airbnb host
The man, Shawn Mackey, had booked the host, Pamela Fohler’s Airbnb in September 2022. He said that he had initially told her that he would be inviting four people for dinner but when the plan changed to accommodate extra guests, he informed her. According to reports, Pamela agreed on letting him invite extra guests. However, she later went back on her words and said that he could only invite eight people and every guest would have an additional charge whether or not they stay the night.
Reports said that Shawn too, at some point, was asked to leave but was allowed to stay after he spoke to Pamela’s husband. However, when he asked for a partial refund after checking out the following morning, Airbnb declined his request. He said that ever since, Pamela has been harassing him and asking him to pay a fine of $1570 or Rs 1.3 lakh.
What happened next
“Hello Shawn, hope you are well. Sorry, it took so long to get the photos you requested together to show your stay at our home. But I had faith, and was driven by integrity, so I committed to get these posted for you and Airbnb. Photo at 3.16 am is especially notable. Should I forward the photos and videos to Teresa or will you? The videos will come shortly. I think they are too big for text so I will post to YouTube,” Pamela allegedly texted Shawn.
Reports said that Pamela then sent the pictures to Shawn’s wife using a fake email address. The man has filed a lawsuit against the woman for violating his privacy.
