The recent surge in summer vacation planning shows that 75% of travelers believe Americans are making travel a bigger priority in 2024. Many are choosing a more digitized, self-service approach to their accommodation experience. A survey of 2,000 participants, half of whom are travelers and half of whom are hotel workers, reveals nearly 80% of travelers are open to staying in hotels that offer automated front desk or self-service kiosks. Over 40% prefer to check in through a hotel’s website, app or digital kiosk. The study, spearheaded by Mews and run by OnePoll, also highlights that hotel staff predict an increased reliance on technology by guests during their stays.
