Agoda, a sister company to Booking.com, is entering the air travel market in Asia by launching its own product for booking flights. This will allow users to purchase airfares directly from the Agoda platform, an option currently unavailable on Booking.com. The development sees Agoda competing with online travel companies like Expedia and Traveloka. While Agoda predominantly offered accommodations before, it previously tested flight bookings through the travel search engine Kayak, another Booking Holdings brand. This marks an evolution in Agoda’s approach, propelling the company further into the Asian travel market.
