Digital travel platform, Agoda, has reported a 20% increase in searches for travel from Malaysia to Southeast Asian destinations compared to the same period last year. Based on these searches, the top travel destinations for Malaysians are Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Laos. A recent survey by Agoda also revealed that 81% of Malaysian travellers are interested in sustainable travel. Factors that could motivate these travellers to make more sustainable choices include financial incentives, availability of sustainable travel packages, and clear guidance on sustainable travel practices.
