The digital travel platform Booking.com revealed its list of “10 most welcoming” cities and regions for 2025, providing a comprehensive guide for travelers to make adventure plans.
This year’s Most Welcoming Places on Earth was determined by almost 1.7 million accommodation partners across 212 countries and regions which received Traveller Review Awards.
Sigiriya, a city in the centre of Sri Lanka where natural beauty and rich history coexist, has been named in the top five spots of the “Most Welcoming City on Earth” in 2025.
The iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, invites visitors to climb for breathtaking views. Meanwhile, the nearby village is renowned for its fabrics and handicrafts such as batiks, ornamental pots and handloom textiles.
Cazorla in Spain, Urubici in Brazil, Taupo in New Zealand, and St. Augustine in the United States are among the rest in the top five notches.
