Greek hotel owners are reportedly gearing up to sue Booking.com, alleging that the platform’s pricing restrictions are causing financial losses. The move is spearheaded by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, following a 2023 European Court of Justice ruling that found the site’s pricing policies harmful to hotel owners.
Booking.com prohibits hotels from offering lower prices than those listed on its platform, even if rooms are not fully booked. While some customers bypass this restriction by contacting hotels directly for discounts, the platform’s rules still prevent hoteliers from openly advertising reduced rates.
