- Expedia Group cutbacks will impact 1,500 roles this year, more than 8% of workforce it just seems weird for Expedia to have over 15,000 employees.
They need like 100 to maintain the website, maybe another 100 to work on marketing and sales with hotels, another 100 for business sales… 20 for partners like bank portals, 20 for advertising. So some number under 500, aside from outsourced customer service? And that even accounts for the two or three people needed to devalue their loyalty program.
At a minimum, the Expedia customer experience doesn’t seem like it would be worse and without all those layers maybe it would improve? After all, this is a company that suggests it is common for customers with prepaid rental car bookings to lose their reservation and be out the money when their flight gets delayed;…
