As much of the United States continues to deal with winter
weather travel woes, Expedia released the findings of its Spring
Break Travel Outlook for 2024 survey, highlighting the season’s fastest-growing
destination trends.
According to Expedia’s data, the total solar eclipse occurring
on April 8 is one of the biggest trends this spring, with flight searches for destinations
along the path of totality skyrocketing, including a massive 95 percent
increase for Dallas and a 90 percent jump for Austin.
In addition to the total solar eclipse occurring during the
busiest travel week of the spring, the study found that traditional
destinations like Orlando, Cancun, Punta Cana, Las Vegas, and Miami rank
strongly in searches and bookings.
