A woman who had to cancel her $1,200 travel plans had a difficult time in getting her money returned to her.
A Tempe woman, Theresa Moyer, successfully received a full refund of $1,209 for a non-refundable trip to Germany after intervention from AZ Family’s “Call 12 for Action” team. Moyer had initially booked the trip through Expedia for her daughter and granddaughter, with travel planned for November.
However, unforeseen medical emergencies forced Moyer to cancel the planned international travel. Her daughter required emergency surgery, making the trip impossible for the family. When Moyer sought a refund from Expedia for the $1,209 booking, the company initially denied her request, citing its non-refundable policy.
Moyer then contacted AZ Family’s “Call 12 for Action” for assistance with the situation. Following the consumer advocacy team’s involvement, Expedia reversed its decision. The travel company ultimately issued the full $1,209 refund to Moyer for the canceled trip.
