New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) Online traveling company MakeMyTrip (MMT) today said “spiritual travel” in India is witnessing unprecedented growth, with pilgrimage destinations now accounting for over 10 per cent of company’s total room night bookings in Q3 FY25.
Searches for religious destinations on the platform have surged by 46 per cent in 2024 as compared to 2022, highlighting a growing preference among travelers for journeys that are deeply meaningful and spiritually enriching — distinct from leisure travel, MMT said in a release.
Rooted in faith and tradition, these pilgrimages often involve families with a higher percentage of elderly members, making it essential to find the perfect stay with facilities tailored to their needs.
