Online travel agency, Travelstart, has introduced the first Artificial Intelligence (AI) travel assistant in Africa. The assistant is designed to cater to the needs of travelers from various countries, using pre-programmed data and algorithms. In addition to creating personalised itineraries and providing travel advice, the AI chatbot can also understand and respond in Pidgin English. Travelstart has also expanded its presence in Nigeria by opening a store at the Murtala Muhammed Airport terminal 2. Head of Marketing, Alex Olafare, promises an immediate response to any query typed to the AI chatbot, which can also directly book flights.
