TRIPADVISOR bosses have been forced to turn off fake reviews for the Edinburgh Castle cafe at the centre of a storm over its ‘offensive’ name.
A post advertising the refurb of the Redcoat Cafe caused a pile-on from Nats – including some SNP politicians.
The eatery at the popular site left punters seeing red over its historical associations – despite having the same name for the last 32 years.
Social media outrage was sparked over the café’s links to the Battle of Culloden – where Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Jacobite Army was defeated at the hands of soldiers led by the Duke of Cumberland.
