Australians are preparing for holidays in the immediate to near future, with two in five (41 per cent) travellers surveyed by Tripadvisor saying they are planning a trip between now and 31 May.
From a pool of 2,000 people surveyed across six countries, with Australia among them, Tripadvisor found that interest in immediate travel is more pronounced in the younger crowd.
Up to 45 per cent of millennials and gen Z travellers (45 per cent) are keen to get away from now to 31 May, a stark difference from the same period a year ago when 70 per cent didn’t travel at all.
In addition, 85 per cent of millennials and gen Z travellers identified in the survey said they were planning a trip this autumn (compared to 42 per cent in total).
The survey also found that:
- 77 per cent of millennials and gen Z survey respondents believe day-to-day life will return to normal within three months (compared to 28.5 per cent total)
