TUI Airways has signed a long-term agreement with Willis Aviation Services Limited (WASL) to see maintenance services carried out on its narrowbody aircraft at Teesside International Airport.
TUI’s 737NGs will be the first aircraft to receive maintenance checks at ‘Hangar 2’ where WASL is based, however, the company has secured planning permission to expand its MRO operations at the airport.
The deal comes just weeks after WASL signed a deal with carrier Jet2 to carry out in-depth C-check inspections on its Boeing 737s.
Phil Forster, managing director of Teesside International Airport, said: “Willis has been a vital partner for Teesside and this agreement is yet another example of their commitment to our airport.
“This second deal shows we’re growing as an attractive option for aircraft MRO with operators sitting up and taking notice of what our site has on offer.
