The Hong Kong Tourism Board executive director, Dane Cheng Ting-yat, stated that the fireworks and drone shows are expected to be rolled out in May or June at the earliest, which could be coordinated with ongoing festivals and events.
The government announced during its annual budget speech that the administration will make good use of Victoria Harbour to offer “enchanting experiences” for tourists and locals by holding monthly fireworks displays and drone shows.
The executive director stated today that the drone shows and the fireworks display could be rolled out in May and June and possibly coordinate with ongoing festivities such as the May First Golden Week, the Cheung Chau Bun Festival, and the Dragon Boat Festival among others.
He also said that other organizations are planning on holding smaller-scale fireworks displays and drone shows, believing that this will have a good overall effect on Hong Kong.
