China’s State Council announced on Thursday the appointment of two new secretaries for the transport and tourism portfolios in the Hong Kong SAR.
Mable Chan has been named Secretary for Transport and Logistics, replacing Lam Sai-hung, while Rosanna Law will take up the role of Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, succeeding Kevin Yeung, according to a statement cited by Xinhua News Agency.
The statement emphasised that the decision was made in accordance with Hong Kong’s Basic Law and based on recommendations from the region’s Chief Executive, John Lee.
