1st December 2024 – (Hong Kong) According to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the city welcomed a remarkable 36.67 million visitors in the first ten months of 2024, representing a significant 37% rise compared to the previous year. Travellers from Southeast Asia played a pivotal role in this recovery, with numbers exceeding 2.3 million—approximately 95% of pre-pandemic levels—making it one of the fastest recovering markets.
Celebrating a milestone, Hong Kong marked the arrival of its millionth visitor from the Philippines yesterday, surpassing the previous record of 930,000 set in 2018 and achieving a new all-time high.
