During the first four days of the Chinese New
Year holiday (10 – 13 February 2024), Hong Kong welcomed about
750,000 visitors, of which approximately 650,000 were from
Mainland China, exceeding the Mainland arrivals of 640,000 in the
same period in 2018.
Provisional figures also reveal that the vibrant
city attracted 3.83 million visitor arrivals in January 2024,
equivalent to 72% during the same month in 2018. The preliminary
breakdown of those 3.83 million visitors is as follows:
Mainland: 2,984,761
Non-Mainland*: 840,856
(short-haul: 475,483; long-haul: 227,995; and new markets: 46,810)
Total: 3,825,617
*The Non-Mainland
total above includes visitor arrivals from short-haul,
long-haul and
new markets, as well as the Macau SAR.
