Hong Kong and Shenzhen have discussed extending border service hours for the New Year’s Eve countdown fireworks show, the government has revealed, with transport authorities coordinating travel arrangements with operators.
A Security Bureau spokesman said on Monday that discussions between the government and Shenzhen involved extending border service hours for New Year’s Eve, including at the Lo Wu and Shenzhen Bay checkpoints.
“Mainland port authorities have submitted the necessary reports to the national port authorities for approval according to procedures,” he said.
“Details will be announced as soon as possible.”
