Hong Kong will allocate HK$765 million to support the tourism recovery efforts of the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
The HKTB has been busy with domestic travel promotions such as ‘Holiday at Home’ and ‘360 Hong Kong Moments’ and will get the funding to plan for the resumption in international travel.
”Upon gradual resumption of cross-boundary travel, the HKTB will roll out promotional offers to attract visitors through the ‘Open House Hong Kong’ platform, ” said HK finance chief Paul Chen.
“The HKTB is reviewing the positioning of Hong Kong’s tourism in the long run with a view to formulating appropriate strategies to spur the recovery of the tourism industry.”
The government allocated a total of HK$934 million to boost tourism with HK$169 million for funding various cultural, heritage and creative tourism projects.
