HONG KONG — A historic milestone in Southeast Asian tourism recovery was achieved on Nov. 29 as Hong Kong welcomed its 1 millionth Filipino visitor of 2024, underscoring the city’s resurgence as a top travel destination.
Miguel Linao, his wife Ana, and their three children were greeted at Hong Kong International Airport by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) as the record-breaking visitors.
“This isn’t our first trip to Hong Kong, but we never expected anything like this,” said Linao. “We’re here to support our daughter in a gymnastics competition and, of course, to enjoy the sights. Hong Kong is always a quick and exciting getaway for us.”
