While crowds were slow to form earlier, by 7pm hundreds of locals, expats, mainland Chinese visitors and international tourists could be seen entering the Central Harbourfront Event Space dressed in neon-tinged clothing decorated with jewels and other accessories.
“It’s very crazy and very exciting,” said 28-year-old Hongkonger Yoo Na. “The water and the music combined makes it more fun.”
American Geoff Baker said that while there were not many people on the grounds when he arrived at around 3pm, the atmosphere improved as the day went on.
