The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a 24km crossing south of the Humen Bridge, will officially open to traffic at 3pm this Sunday. The road connection aims to reduce travel time between Hong Kong and cities on the other side of the Pearl River Delta, while also encouraging leisure travel. The transportation link’s management authority announced the opening and plans for an opening ceremony on Sunday morning during a briefing with mainland Chinese media. Already, hundreds of Hong Kong residents have joined cross-border tour groups planning to use the new link. The link will connect Zhongshan to Shenzhen via two bridges.
